Compare monthly and annual costs

Annual billing is not automatically better. It only makes sense when you truly expect long-term use.

Annual billing being cheaper does not always make it better

Annual plans often have a lower effective monthly cost, but if you stop using the service after three months, that prepaid cost may still become waste.

Focus on three things when comparing plans

  1. How large the annual discount actually is
  2. Whether you really expect to keep using the service for at least a year
  3. Whether a lighter or cheaper plan already exists

Good cases for annual billing

  • High-frequency usage
  • Essential for work
  • No obvious alternative
  • A strong history of stable use

Cases where annual billing is risky

  • You are still testing the service
  • Your needs are unstable
  • You only need it for a temporary project
